I leave today for a trip I didn't want to take. Like many other times before, I explained to Kate that she wouldn't see me for a few days. Unlike those other occasions when she either didn't seem to understand what that meant, or my absence didn't bother her, this time it was like she sensed my mood. I gave her a hug and said "I love you" and she hugged me back and said "I love you too, mommy". She then sat on my lap and asked me if I would stay with her. I said "of course". And she then said "Will you stay with me forever, mommy?". I can't remember ever being so touched in my entire life. I gave her my gold necklace with an Ankh pendant and told her to hold it every time she misses me. If I had one for myself I would be holding it 24/7.:: Jade @ 6:58 PM
